By all accounts, the Heritage Foundation study that would have been the conservative media’s cudgel to defeat comprehensive immigration reform a second time is all but rotting in the ground, buried under accusations of anti-immigrant and race-based bias.

Emails from Obama administration aides obtained by CNN should end the right-wing media’s nine-month witch hunt regarding the creation and editing of talking points related to the September 2012 attacks on diplomatic facilities in Benghazi, Libya. CNN has obtained more than 100 pages of emails detailing the exchanges between CIA, State Department, and other Obama administration aides concerning what should be included in talking points for public appearances by members of Congress and administration officials. Those talking points were used by U.N.

The New York Times ,  The Washington Post , and  The Wall Street Journal  provided incomplete reporting of GOP criticism that President Obama downplayed the role of terrorism in the attacks on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya. None of these newspapers provided their readers with Obama’s actual comments labeling the attacks an “act of terror,” thereby giving undue weight to Republican attacks.

The Wall Street Journal debunked the false equivalency of its editorial page that insists the current GOP blockade on President Obama’s judicial nominees is unremarkable “turnabout” and merely follows “filibuster precedent” set by Democrats. In a May 13 article , the WSJ ‘s Washington Bureau Chief Gerald F. Seib detailed the unprecedented Republican obstructionism of the president’s agenda, which not only attempts to nullify his policy initiatives by hamstringing executive agencies, but more seriously by filibustering his picks for the federal courts.

ABC News is falsely suggesting there is a contradiction between the Obama administration removing references to terrorist groups in Libya from talking points about the September 11 attacks on diplomatic facilities in that country and pointing to President Obama’s statements that those attacks were an “act of terror.” The original September 14 version of a set of talking points compiled by the CIA’s Office of Terrorism Analysis stated that “Islamic extremists with ties to al Qa’ida participated in the attack,” and specifically suggested the involvement of the group Ansar al Sharia. Those specifics were subsequently removed, with the final version of the talking points stating only that “extremists participated” in the attacks.

One of the big bits of news to come out of the May 8 House Oversight Committee hearing was the claim that “whistleblower” Gregory Hicks felt he had been “effectively demoted” within the State Department for speaking out about the September 2012 attacks on the diplomatic facility in Benghazi. Hicks’ attorney,  Victoria Toensing , is making the right-wing media rounds, telling radio host Steve Malzberg that Hicks was forced out of his post in Libya after the State Department told him he could either take a desk job or lose his job altogether

ABC News is buying into right-wing scandal mongering over the tragic September 2012 attacks on a U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya, with an “exclusive” report that doesn’t stand up to minimal scrutiny, with flaws that are being used by the right to call for a major investigation
