National Rifle Association board member Ted Nugent will reportedly appear tonight on CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront to discuss firearm policy, despite his history of inflammatory rhetoric and misinformation about gun violence. In February, OutFront featured an interview with Nugent where he suggested the government could confiscate firearms, a conspiracy theory that host Erin Burnett and CNN reporter Deb Feyerick later treated as a serious argument. Nugent’s appearance comes just days after he doubled down on his infamous comments that he would be “dead or in jail” because of President Obama’s gun policies.

That’s according to a new study by the National Hispanic Media Coalition, which found that “[c]onservative talk radio and Fox News audiences hold significantly more anti-immigrant and anti-Latino opinions.” NHMC stated that Fox News audiences are “more likely to agree that Latinos are on welfare (56%), take jobs from Americans (43%) and have too many children (42%).” These are all stereotypes Fox has pushed in its coverage of immigration issues . The study, done in conjunction with Latino Decisions, explained that “[c]onservative radio and Fox News program viewers are less familiar and less favorable toward Latinos and immigrants on nearly every measure included in the survey,” adding: Only 54% of those who trust Fox News, and 56% of those who trust talk radio give Latinos favorable marks

But granting Ahmadinejad a visa to appear at the United Nations is not an indication of Obama’s foreign policy leanings and is in line with precedent set by the Bush administration. Under the headline “The White House hands Iran’s Ahmadinejad a global megaphone,” Bayefsky writes: It is a moral outrage that the Obama administration is facilitating Ahmadinejad’s return to the United States in September of 2012.
