Fox News contributor Monica Crowley suggested that President Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton acted irresponsibly following the terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, by claiming they were “unaccounted for” even though Obama and Clinton are both documented to have been active at the time of the attack. On the May 9 edition of Fox News’  America’s Newsroom , Crowley revisited the  long – debunked   myth  that Obama and Clinton were absent or inactive following the September 11 attack in Benghazi, Libya. During her guest segment on a congressional hearing that took place the previous day, she claimed ”the two leaders of the U.S.

As wildfires swept through southern California over the past week, experts warned that the state is in for an especially dangerous wildfire season due to unusually hot and dry conditions. But in their coverage of the fires, several of California’s major newspapers have entirely ignored how climate change has increased wildfire risks in the region. A new poll showing that more than four in ten registered Republican voters believe an “armed revolution” may be necessary in the next few years echoes rhetoric employed by Fox News personalities.  The poll , released on May 1 by Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind, found that 29 percent of Americans, including 44 percent of Republicans, agreed with the statement, “In the next few years, an armed revolution might be necessary in order to protect our liberties.” From Talking Points Memo : The survey, aimed at measuring public attitudes toward gun issues, found that 29 percent of Americans agree with the statement, “In the next few years, an armed revolution might be necessary in order to protect our liberties.” An additional five percent were unsure. Eighteen percent of Democrats said an armed revolt “might be necessary,” as compared to 27 percent of independents and 44 percent of Republicans.

Photo: The Denver Post Post-Newtown, sales for bulletproof backpacks and whiteboards have soared as parents and school districts seek to take children’s safety into their own hands. The reaction is along the lines of what the National Rifle Association has promoted for months: that armed guards, and not gun regulation, is the answer to school shootings. Congress responded to parents’ concern by caving to pressure from the NRA and blocking the only serious federal attempt to pass gun safety legislation earlier this month.
