In a September 11 FoxNews.com op-ed that misleads about President Obama’s Iran policy and the effect of sanctions, Anne Bayefsky asserted that President Obama has facilitated Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad  by allowing him to speak to the United Nations General Assembly on September 26. But granting Ahmadinejad a visa to appear at the United Nations is not an indication of Obama’s foreign policy leanings and is in line with precedent set by the Bush administration. Under the headline “The White House hands Iran’s Ahmadinejad a global megaphone,” Bayefsky writes: It is a moral outrage that the Obama administration is facilitating Ahmadinejad’s return to the United States in September of 2012.

Students at numerous universities are petitioning their administrations to end their contracts with Chick-fil-A because the company uses its profits to support anti-gay hate groups and ex-gay ministries. The American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer has sunk to a new, disturbing low with his anti-gay statements. In two separate tweets last night, he called for an “Underground Railroad to deliver innocent children from same-sex households.” In one tweet  he was referring to the sad story of Lisa Miller , who, after declaring herself ex-gay, kidnapped her daughter away to Central America to prevent her former partner from having any custody.

Rush Limbaugh became the latest conservative media figure today to distort economic history in an effort to attack President Obama’s jobs record, claiming that “it’s standard” for the economy to add 400,000 or even 600,000 jobs per month following a recession. In fact, monthly job creation in excess of 600,000 has only occurred eight times since 1939.  Limbaugh was responding to the monthly jobs report released on Friday by the Labor Department, which showed that the economy grew by 163,000 jobs in July, compared with 64,000 in June.
