It took more than a year for Jewell to clear his name; he would successfully sue several outets for their coverage but remained haunted by the memory of the reporters who went after him “like piranha on a bleeding cow” for years. In the 24 hours following yesterday’s tragic bombings at the Boston Marathon, several right-wing media figures have attempted to create their own Jewell. Echoing the same piranha-like voraciousness seen in that case, they have published the name, home address, and what they claim are Facebook pictures of a 20-year-old Saudi national that police have since identified as a witness — not a suspect — to the Boston bombings

During the February 26 edition of The O’Reilly Factor , O’Reilly railed against a new directive for Massachusetts schools concerning the treatment of transgender students. The directive – which is aimed at encouraging non-discrimination on the basis of gender identity – instructs school officials to acknowledge students by their preferred gender identity and respect transgender students’ privacy when discussing their gender identity with their parents.

In fact, independent analysts have said that Romney cannot support his own math, and some economists say the economy is already on track to create that many jobs. Romney’s Debate Lie: 12 Million Jobs Romney Lie: “I Put Out A Five-Point Plan That Gets America 12 Million New Jobs In Four Years.” During the October 16 presidential debate, Mitt Romney claimed that his economic agenda would lead to the creation of 12 million jobs in 4 years: We have not made the progress we need to make to put people back to work.

During the October 2 edition of Cam & Company , host Cam Edwards suggested that any action taken by then-Governor Romney on assault weapons was supported by Massachusetts state gun rights group Gun Owners Action League (GOAL) and further stated that Romney “actually undid some of the damage” of the commonwealth’s 1998 assault weapons ban. In fact, legislation signed by Romney in 2004 made the Massachusetts assault weapons ban permanent. A July 1, 2004 press release issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, titled, “Romney Signs Off On Permanent Assault Weapons Ban,” leaves little doubt that the former Massachusetts governor was involved in restricting access to assault weapons.
